wanted ti wait until everything was compatible (especially the notebooks)
AMIGAzette: Are the buyers satisfied of your machines?
Extreme Computing: So far everyone who has purchased our systems are very pleased, eventhough there are still some minor incompatabilities.
AMIGAzette: Which kind of emulator are you using: UAE, Amithlon...? and what is its benchmark?
Extreme Computing: AmiThlon was our first emulator, then we were working on a customemulation package with Amiga Inc. called "Amiga x86". The product based partly on AmiThlon has been shelved. Please see our release about this on http://www.amigax86.com.
AMIGAzette: What are your relations with Amiga Inc.?
Extreme Computing: We are working closely with Amiga Inc. on several projects. They havebeen very helpful and supportive.
AMIGAzette: What will you expect from the next availibility of Pegasos and AmigaOne?
Extreme Computing: As we were one of the first to receive an AmigaOne Developers board, wewere quite pleased with the hardware design. We expect it to become one of the icons for Amiga. The AmigaOne is truly a revolution for Amiga. I personally will be using my AmigaOne for at least the next ten years!
As for Pegasos, we explored it a bit at first, but since it is not an Amiga Licensed product, nor will we ever know if it 100% compatible, we are not supporting Pegasos. (That is not to say we don't like the idea of what they are doing, we just can't support anyone who does not have license to develop Amiga hardware, software, etc.)
AMIGAzette: have you official resellers in Europe or are you thinking about contacting some?
Extreme Computing: Well, for the Amigax86 project, we were beginning to preparedistribution for Europe (U.K. & Germany), Australia, and Asia. Since the project is on hold, we will only be pursuing this for future product distribution.
AMIGAzette: What do you think about AROS?
Extreme Computing: Looks interesting, but again, from what I can tell they have no licensefor Amiga IP. Also, we were looking for as close to a native port of the Amiga OS as possible. Emulators on top of other operating systems just do not have the same feel as the original. This is why we chose Amithlon early on, since it was really an "emulation layer" - not a software emulator.
